Red Iceberg (Lactuca sativa) is a beautiful heirloom crisphead lettuce — large, firm heads with striking burgundy outer leaves and a crisp, pale inner heart with a sweet, mild flavor. All the crunch and reliability of a classic iceberg with stunning color. Open-pollinated and non-GMO.
Direct sow outdoors in early spring or fall, or start indoors 4–6 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep, thinning to 12–14 inches apart. Prefers cool weather. Water consistently. Harvest when heads are firm and full.

The seeds arrived around the estimated time of arrival. They were well packaged and looked good. I planted a few 3 days ago and I've already got sprouts.
I hope these flowers will grow in North Dakota! The colors are vibrant and hopefully the bees will like them. I will have to wait until after the Big Thaw in April before I can plant them - can't wait!
