Golden Detroit Beet, Heirloom Seeds — The Beautiful Golden Beet That Won’t Bleed When Cooked

Golden Detroit (Beta vulgaris) is the beet that delivers all the flavor of red beets without any of the mess. Round, orange-gold roots stay gold-yellow when cooked — no bleeding, no staining, no pink everything. The same sweet texture and flavor as red beets, but with a beautiful golden color that makes it as stunning on the plate as it is in the garden. The deep green tops are delicious too — cook them like Swiss chard for a genuine dual-purpose vegetable. Good bolt resistance and stores well. 55 days.

Why Grow Golden Detroit?

  • Won’t bleed when cooked — no staining, no mess, beautiful golden color on the plate
  • Same sweet flavor as red beets — all the taste, none of the bleeding
  • Dual-purpose vegetable — deep green tops cook like Swiss chard
  • Good bolt resistance — reliable through the season
  • Stores well — excellent for long-term keeping
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year
