This old heirloom bean is suitable for early planting and is grown for its versatility as either a snap bean or a dry bean. A dual-purpose bean is excellent for fresh green beans or dried for soups and cooking. Bush habit produces loads of super dark green beans that are tender, meaty, and stringless. Known to tolerate cooler temperatures than some other varieties. Does well under adverse conditions. For dry beans, leave pods on the vine to dry and pick when you can hear the beans rattle inside the pods, in about 70-100 days.
