THREE SISTERS Collection: Yellow Sweet Corn

Three Sisters Seeds, Heirloom Seed Collection — Corn, Beans & Squash, the Ancient Native American Companion Planting Trio

The Three Sisters — corn, beans, and squash — is one of the oldest and most successful companion planting systems in the world, developed by Native American peoples over thousands of years. Corn provides a trellis for the beans to climb; beans fix nitrogen in the soil to feed the corn and squash; squash spreads along the ground, shading out weeds and retaining moisture. Together they create a self-sustaining, highly productive garden ecosystem. This heirloom collection brings all three together in one packet. Open-pollinated and non-GMO.

Why Grow the Three Sisters?

  • Ancient Native American companion planting system — thousands of years of proven success
  • Self-sustaining ecosystem — corn, beans, and squash support each other naturally
  • Beans fix nitrogen — feeding the corn and squash without fertilizer
  • Squash shades out weeds — retaining moisture and reducing maintenance
  • All heirloom, open-pollinated — save seed from every variety year after year

Growing Notes

Plant in a sunny location after last frost. Sow corn first in a block (not a row) for good pollination. When corn is 4–6 inches tall, plant beans around the base. Plant squash seeds between the corn hills. Water consistently. Harvest each crop at its appropriate stage.
