Growing Notes

Direct sow outdoors in spring in deep, loose, fertile soil — roots need room to grow long. Seeds need light to germinate — barely cover with soil. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Harvest at 75 days or leave in ground through fall and winter. Note: burdock roots penetrate heavy clay subsoil and can be difficult to remove once established — choose planting location carefully.
