Violetta Italia (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis) is a vigorous, easy-to-grow Italian heirloom cauliflower — small heads with a beautiful light purple hue that is stunning in the garden and on the plate. Side shoots will grow after the central head has been harvested, extending the season. Turns green after cooking in boiling water. Excellent taste. 80–89 days. 100+ seeds per packet.
Start indoors 4–6 weeks before last frost, or direct sow in late summer for fall harvest. Transplant outdoors spacing 1 plant per square foot in full sun. Water consistently. Harvest the central head before curds loosen. Side shoots will continue producing after central head is cut. 80–89 days to maturity.
