Padrón Hot Pepper, Heirloom Seeds — Spain’s Beloved Tapas Pepper From Galicia

A gourmet gardener’s treasure, authentic Padrón peppers hail from the Galicia region of Spain where they are sautéed in olive oil with sea salt and served as a classic tapas appetizer. The magic of Padrón: harvest at 1–1½” and most will be mild — with about one in twenty delivering a surprising kick. Let them grow to 2–3” and every single one turns hot. A great frying pepper, pickling pepper, and conversation piece all in one.

Why Grow Padrón?

  • Mild at 1–1½”, hot at 2–3” — the pepper that keeps you guessing
  • Classic Spanish tapas pepper — sauté in olive oil with sea salt
  • Excellent for frying and pickling — heat increases as they ripen red
  • Open-pollinated — save seed year after year
