Navajo Hopi Tea Seeds — Colorado Greenthread | Native Perennial Herb, Culinary & Medicinal, Butterfly Nectar Source

Thelesperma megapotamicum — also called Colorado Greenthread, this native perennial herb has been brewed as a soothing tea and used as a traditional remedy by Puebloan peoples for centuries. Slender, thread-like stems with small yellow flowers that attract Sulphur butterflies. Hardy, drought-tolerant, and beautiful in the garden. Grows as a perennial in USDA Zones 3–12.

Why Grow Navajo / Hopi Tea?

  • Deep Native American heritage — brewed as tea and used medicinally since ancient Puebloan times
  • Hardy native perennial — thrives in harsh, dry conditions with minimal care; USDA Zones 3–12
  • Butterfly nectar source — attracts Sulphur butterflies and other beneficial pollinators
  • Culinary and medicinal — leaves and stems brewed as a mild, earthy herbal tea
  • Drought-tolerant — ideal for xeriscape and low-water gardens
  • Open-pollinated, non-GMO — USA-grown seed stock
