Marketmore 76 is the slicing cucumber that home gardeners reach for when they want reliability, flavor, and a long harvest season. A very popular and productive mid-season variety, Marketmore 76 produces 8–9 inch, 2½ inch wide cucumbers with very dark green skin, a nice flavor, and a smooth, straight form that is perfect for salads. Vines bear over a longer period than most — a practical advantage for gardeners who want a steady supply through the season rather than a single concentrated flush. A few cucumber spines are present but easily rub off. 67 days.
Direct sow outdoors after last frost when soil has warmed to at least 60°F, or start indoors 3–4 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds 1 inch deep in fertile, well-draining soil. Space plants 12–18 inches apart in full sun. Trellis or stake vines. Water consistently. Harvest at 8–9 inches for best flavor. Rub off any spines before eating.
