Golden Bantam is the sweet corn that defined American home gardens for generations β developed to be earlier and sweeter than other varieties, and celebrated for its vibrant golden color and reliable performance in challenging conditions. Stalks produce beautiful 5β6 inch ears of good-quality sweet corn that are excellent for fresh eating, freezing, and sharing straight from the garden.
Hardy, heat-tolerant, and drought-resilient, Golden Bantam performs where other sweet corns struggle. An open-pollinated heirloom you can save seed from year after year.
Direct sow outdoors after last frost when soil has warmed to at least 60Β°F. Plant in blocks of at least 4Γ4 for good wind pollination β single rows will not pollinate well. Sow seeds 1 inch deep, 8β12 inches apart, in rows 30β36 inches apart. Water consistently. Harvest when kernels are plump and milky when pierced.
