Floradel — The University of Florida Heirloom Built for Heat, Humidity & High Yields

Floradel is the tomato for gardeners in hot, humid climates who struggle to get reliable production from standard varieties. Introduced by the University of Florida in 1976, it was specifically developed to withstand heat and humidity while delivering high yields of smooth, bright red, 5–7 ounce slicing tomatoes with slightly deep globes and attractive green shoulders. Crack-resistant and a good shipper, Floradel is an excellent choice for both home gardens and market growers who need a dependable, heat-tolerant slicer.

Perfect for sandwiches, salads, and slicing — a classic Southern garden tomato with proven performance.

Why Grow Floradel?

  • Heat & humidity tolerant — developed by University of Florida specifically for hot, humid climates
  • High yields — remarkable productivity even in challenging summer conditions
  • Crack-resistant — fruits hold up well through variable watering and weather
  • 5–7 oz smooth, bright red fruits — slightly deep globe with green shoulders
  • Excellent for home & market — good shipper, long shelf life
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year
