Growing Notes

Direct sow outdoors 4–6 weeks before last frost in spring, or 6–8 weeks before first frost in fall. Scatter seeds on the soil surface and press in lightly β€” lettuce needs light to germinate. Thin to 6–8 inches for full heads, or leave dense for cut-and-come-again baby greens. Water consistently. Provide afternoon shade in warmer weather to extend the season.
