Ebony Acorn (Cucurbita pepo) is a dark-skinned acorn squash heirloom — nearly black-green, deeply ribbed fruits with deep orange flesh and rich, sweet, nutty flavor. Darker skin than standard acorn varieties with excellent keeping quality. Weighs 1–1½ lbs. Outstanding for baking and roasting. 85 days.
Direct sow outdoors after last frost in full sun, or start indoors 3–4 weeks before transplanting. Sow 1 inch deep, spacing plants 24–36 inches apart. Water consistently. Harvest when skin is hard and stem is dry.
