Early Golden Bantam is an earlier version of the famous Golden Bantam — America’s favorite sweet corn — with 5–6 inch cobs carrying 8 rows of large, bright yellow kernels and a good old-time corn flavor that is best used for roasting ears. Smaller 5-foot plants can be spaced closer together, making Early Golden Bantam ideal for smaller gardens and raised beds. Germinates well in cold soils, making it perfect for early planting when other varieties would struggle. A faster, more compact version of a beloved classic.
Direct sow outdoors after last frost — germinates well in cold soils for early planting. Plant in blocks of at least 4×4 for good wind pollination. Sow seeds 1 inch deep, 6–8 inches apart (can be spaced closer than standard varieties), in rows 24–30 inches apart. Water consistently. Harvest when kernels are plump and milky.
