Dukat Dill is one of the finest dill varieties available — widely regarded as the sweetest of all dills, with a higher essential oil content than standard varieties. The flavor is light and sweetly aromatic, never bitter or overly pungent, making it the preferred choice for fresh use, pickling, and culinary applications where a clean, refined dill flavor is essential. Dukat has slightly heavier foliage than Bouquet and begins blooming a week later, giving you a longer harvest window at the leaf stage before going to seed. Hardy, productive, and grows well in containers. 70 days to maturity.
Direct sow outdoors after last frost in full sun. Sow seeds ⅛ inch deep, thinly, in rows 12 inches apart. Thin to 12–18 inches apart. Dill does not transplant well — direct sow only. Succession sow every 2–3 weeks for continuous leaf harvest. Keep soil consistently moist. Harvest leaves before flowering for best flavor — Dukat’s later bloom time gives you more time at the leaf stage. Allow some plants to flower and set seed for seed harvest and self-sowing.
