Slow Bolt Cilantro — The Longer-Lasting Leaf Harvest With Dual-Use Herb and Coriander Spice

Slow Bolt Cilantro is the smart choice for any herb garden – a Longer-Leaf Harvest, Dual-Use Herb & Coriander Spice, and a slow-bolting strain selected specifically for its extended leaf production before going to seed. Broad, deep green, celery-like foliage with the pungent, fresh flavor essential in Mexican and Asian cuisine. When the plant does eventually bolt, harvest the seeds as coriander — a warm, citrusy spice used to flavor meats, pickles, and baked goods, and rich in antioxidants. One plant, two harvests. Ready in just 35–40 days. 24 inches tall.

Why Grow Slow Bolt Cilantro?

  • Slow-bolting strain — longer leaf harvest before going to seed
  • Dual-use herb & spice — leaves as cilantro, seeds as coriander
  • Essential for Mexican & Asian cuisine — broad, deep green, pungent foliage
  • Coriander seeds are antioxidant-rich — flavor meats, pickles & baked goods
  • Fast harvest — ready in just 35–40 days
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year

Growing Notes

Direct sow outdoors in early spring or fall — cilantro prefers cool weather and bolts quickly in heat. Sow seeds ⅛ inch deep, thinly, in rows 12 inches apart in full sun to part shade. Thin to 6 inches apart. Succession sow every 2–3 weeks for continuous leaf harvest. Keep soil consistently moist. Harvest leaves before flowering for the best flavor. Allow some plants to flower and set seed for coriander harvest and self-sowing.
