Charleston Wakefield, Heirloom Cabbage Seeds — The 1892 Descendant of Early Jersey Wakefield With Larger 4–6 lb Conical Heads and Excellent Heat Resistance

Charleston Wakefield (Brassica oleracea) was introduced in 1892 as a descendant of Early Jersey Wakefield — larger than its ancestor but still conical in shape and just as tasty. Large, 6–8-inch elongated heads tip the scales at 4–6 lbs and store extremely well. Heat resistant, but tolerates cooler temperatures as well — an excellent choice for the garden at any time of year. A longtime heirloom favorite that has yet to lose its flavor. 70–85 days. 300+ seeds per packet.

Why Grow Charleston Wakefield?

  • Introduced 1892 — a longtime heirloom favorite that has never lost its flavor
  • Large 4–6 lb conical heads — 6–8 inches, stores extremely well
  • Heat resistant and cold tolerant — excellent for any time of year
  • Descendant of Early Jersey Wakefield — same great flavor, larger size
  • Excellent storage quality — keeps well after harvest
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year
