Bush Crop — The Compact Bush Cucumber That Delivers Big Harvests Without the Vines

Bush Crop is the cucumber that proves compact plants can deliver big harvests. This dependable selection maintains an excellent bushy habit instead of vining out like most cucumbers — making it a superb variety for small gardens, containers, and any corner of the vegetable garden where space is at a premium. Fruits grow to 6–8 inches, tender and sweet, with a slightly tapered form on dwarf vines that mature in just 55 days. Since this variety matures quickly, a continuous harvest can be achieved by regularly succession planting throughout the season.

Why Grow Bush Crop?

  • Excellent bushy habit — no vining, perfect for small gardens and containers
  • 6–8 inch tender, sweet fruits — slightly tapered, green and smooth
  • 55-day maturity — fast enough for succession planting and continuous harvest
  • Very productive — generous yields from a compact plant
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year
  • Non-GMO, USA-grown seeds

Growing Notes

Direct sow outdoors after last frost when soil has warmed to at least 60°F, or start indoors 3–4 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds 1 inch deep in fertile, well-draining soil. Space plants 18–24 inches apart in full sun. No trellising required. Water consistently. Succession plant every 2–3 weeks for continuous harvest all season.
