Brilliance β€” The Deep Red Heirloom Carrot With Coreless Roots, High Beta-Carotene, and Exceptional Flavor

Brilliance is a uniquely beautiful heirloom carrot with a stunning deep red hue that sets it apart from standard orange varieties. Smooth, cylindrical, and completely coreless, roots grow 8–10 inches long and are best harvested at 4–6 inches for peak tenderness and flavor. High in beta-carotene, delicious in salads, and a proven hit with kids β€” Brilliance also produces attractive tops. An excellent choice for home gardens, containers, and anyone looking to add color and nutrition to their harvest. 60–75 days.

Why Grow Brilliance?

  • Stunning deep red hue β€” unique and beautiful, unlike any standard carrot
  • Smooth, cylindrical & coreless β€” 8–10" roots, best at 4–6" for peak tenderness
  • High in beta-carotene β€” nutritious and flavorful
  • Kids love them β€” sweet flavor and striking color make them a garden favorite
  • Attractive tops β€” beautiful in the garden as well as the kitchen
  • Open-pollinated heirloom β€” save seed year after year

Growing Notes

Direct sow outdoors in early spring 3–5 weeks before last frost, or in late summer for fall harvest. Sow seeds β…› inch deep, thinly, in rows 12 inches apart in full sun. Thin to 2–3 inches apart. Loosen soil deeply before sowing for straight root development. Keep soil consistently moist β€” uneven moisture causes cracking. Harvest at 4–6 inches for best quality, or allow to reach full 8–10 inch size. Good companion plants: beans, peas, tomatoes, onions, and leeks.
