The Crenshaw melon is known for its sweet flavor and delicate gourmet quality. It has been called the Cadillac of melons. Typically weighs around 6 pounds and features thick, mouthwatering flesh. When ripe, the rind turns yellow-green, revealing salmon-colored flesh inside. Introduced to American gardeners in 1929, Crenshaw melon seeds are a renamed variety of casaba melon that originated in ancient Persia. Since their introduction, they have changed very little, maintaining their distinctive large size and sweetness.
