Amish Butter, Popcorn

Creamy-white rice and pearl-type kernels are noted for their excellent popping ability and remarkable buttery flavor. The flavor is built right in. No salt or oil is needed! Prefers moist, well-drained soil, full sun, and a soil pH of 5.8 to 7.0. Grows best in Zones 4-8. The standard of flavor excellence, both for popping and ground for polenta. Outstanding for hominy, grits, and tortillas too. Old Amish heirlooms were recently discovered by a wider public. Popcorn is a particularly nice crop for a home garden because it doesn't cross much with sweet or flour corn. Grow your own snacks for the winter!
