Danish Ballhead cabbage seeds produce heirloom cabbages that are mild and tender. This is a great, general-purpose cabbage that is good for sauerkraut, coleslaw, or general cooking. Big 7-10", light-green, well-protected heads stand in the garden well into the winter. Heads average 5-7 lb, are a standard storage type, do well in mountain areas, will adapt to Northwest, have excellent yields, and are very dependable until late spring. Danish Ballhead is also a good storage variety; pull the whole plants in the fall and hang them upside-down, root intact, in a cool basement room. Plants will keep at least one month--and under suitable conditions, up to three or four. A late-season type that does best with early-summer sowings.
