Yolo Wonder β€” The Disease-Resistant Heirloom Bell Pepper From UC Davis

Yolo Wonder was bred with purpose. Developed at UC Davis in the 1950s as a direct improvement on Cal Wonder, this blocky heirloom bell pepper carries natural resistance to tobacco mosaic virus β€” a significant advantage for gardeners who have struggled with pepper disease in the past. The fruits are large, four-lobed, and thick-walled, ripening from a deep, glossy green to a rich, sweet red with the same satisfying crunch and clean flavor that made Cal Wonder famous.

For gardeners who want the classic bell pepper experience with added resilience, Yolo Wonder delivers β€” season after season, without compromise.

Why Grow Yolo Wonder?

  • Tobacco mosaic virus resistant β€” bred for resilience in challenging garden conditions
  • Large, four-lobed blocky fruits β€” thick-walled, ideal for stuffing and roasting
  • Green to red ripening β€” harvest at either stage for different flavor profiles
  • Classic heirloom flavor β€” clean, sweet, and satisfying
  • UC Davis heritage β€” developed as a direct improvement on Cal Wonder
  • Open-pollinated heirloom β€” save seed year after year
