Early Butterhead (Lactuca sativa) is a reliable heirloom butterhead — one of the earliest-maturing butterheads available, forming compact, well-shaped heads with soft, tender, buttery leaves and a mild, sweet flavor. Ideal for early spring and fall cool-season crops. Open-pollinated and non-GMO.
Direct sow outdoors in early spring or fall, or start indoors 4–6 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep, thinning to 8–10 inches apart. Prefers cool weather. Water consistently. Harvest when heads are firm and full.

The seeds arrived around the estimated time of arrival. They were well packaged and looked good. I planted a few 3 days ago and I've already got sprouts.
I hope these flowers will grow in North Dakota! The colors are vibrant and hopefully the bees will like them. I will have to wait until after the Big Thaw in April before I can plant them - can't wait!
