(Raphanus sativus) This traditional variety of daikon radish is round and has a basketball-like shape. The giant white radish has a sweet, mild flavor. With origins in South Japan, it is known as the largest radish in the world. Produces large, round, white roots that average 5-10 pounds and have been known to reach up to 100 pounds. It is best harvested when roots are around 10" diameter. The Suggested uses are pickling and cooking. Grown in the Sakurajima region of Japan. 80 days.
