Ruby Red (Lactuca sativa) is a classic heirloom leaf lettuce — vivid, deep ruby-red leaves with a tender, mild flavor and excellent color that holds well in the garden. Slow to bolt and heat tolerant. Beautiful in salads and as a garnish. Excellent for cut-and-come-again harvesting. Open-pollinated and non-GMO.
Direct sow outdoors in early spring or fall. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep, thinning to 8–10 inches apart. Prefers cool weather but slow to bolt. Water consistently. Harvest outer leaves as needed or cut entire plant for regrowth.

The seeds arrived around the estimated time of arrival. They were well packaged and looked good. I planted a few 3 days ago and I've already got sprouts.
I hope these flowers will grow in North Dakota! The colors are vibrant and hopefully the bees will like them. I will have to wait until after the Big Thaw in April before I can plant them - can't wait!
