Royalty Purple Pod, Bush Bean,

(Phaseolus vulgaris) Royalty purple pod is a bush type, but has short runners and purple flowers. The bright purple pods are 5-6" long and turn green when cooked. Very tasty. Royalty purple pod will emerge in cooler soil than many other beans. (beans hate cold soil). Bred by E.M. Meader at the University of New Hampshire and introduced in 1957.
