Red Garnet Mustard (Brassica juncea) is the mustard green that delivers maximum visual impact from day one β intense red leaves right from the first true leaf stage, with deep, rounded, jewel-toned foliage that makes it as beautiful in the garden as it is on the plate. The bold, spicy mustard flavor is best for spring and fall plantings, when cool weather deepens both the color and the taste. High-yielding and very easy to grow, Red Garnet is excellent in salads and as a garnish, and makes outstanding microgreens with striking color and strong flavor. Baby greens in 20 days, full maturity at 50 days.
Direct sow outdoors in early spring or late summer for fall harvest. Sow seeds ΒΌ inch deep, 1β2 inches apart. Thin to 6 inches. Full sun to part shade. Water consistently. Harvest outer leaves continuously or cut whole plant at soil level for baby greens at 20 days. Color and flavor intensify in cool weather.
