Pusztakolosz, Tomato
Sturdy vines with dense foliage bear large, red-orange fruits that typically weigh between 1 and 2 pounds. The fruits are almost entirely flesh with very few seeds. Their flavor is exceptional—delightfully sweet and mild, with a well-balanced acidity. This is a true heirloom variety that is quite rare. Be sure to save your own seeds.
Originally from Cluj, Transylvania, Romania, this seed variety holds cultural significance as many Hungarians reside in Romania. The term 'Puszta' means 'prairie' in Hungarian, while 'Kolosz' is the Hungarian name for Cluj. Gerhard Bohl, a seed collector from Germany, gave this seed to The Seed Ambassadors Project. 80-85 Days.
