Purple Top Turnip, Heirloom Seeds — The Traditional American Turnip With Sweet Frost-Enhanced Flavor

Purple Top White Globe (Brassica rapa) is the classic American heirloom turnip — smooth, round roots averaging 3–4 inches in diameter, white below the soil line and bright purple above, with large lobed greens that are excellent cooked. A dual-harvest crop: harvest the greens throughout the season, then pull the roots at full maturity. Frost enhances the flavor of both roots and greens, making this an exceptional fall crop. 55 days.

Why Grow Purple Top Turnip?

  • The traditional American heirloom turnip — proven for generations
  • Frost enhances flavor — sweeter and more satisfying after cool weather
  • Dual harvest — large lobed greens throughout the season, roots at maturity
  • Beautiful purple-and-white coloring — white below soil, bright purple above
  • Fast to maturity — ready in just 55 days
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year
