Prizehead, Heirloom Leaf Lettuce Seeds — The Slow-Bolting, Crisp Salad Lettuce With Bronze-Tipped Leaves

Prizehead (Lactuca sativa) is a classic American heirloom leaf lettuce — large, loose heads with crinkled, bronze-tipped green leaves and a crisp, mild flavor. One of the slowest-bolting leaf lettuces available, making it an excellent choice for spring and summer gardens. Tender and delicious. Open-pollinated and non-GMO.

Why Grow Prizehead?

  • One of the slowest-bolting leaf lettuces — extended harvest season
  • Crinkled bronze-tipped green leaves — beautiful and distinctive
  • Crisp, mild flavor — excellent fresh in salads
  • Large, loose heads — abundant harvests
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year

Growing Notes

Direct sow outdoors in early spring or fall. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep, thinning to 8–10 inches apart. Prefers cool weather but slow to bolt in heat. Water consistently. Harvest outer leaves as needed or cut entire plant for regrowth.
