Principe Borghese Tomato, Heirloom Seeds — The Classic Italian Sun-Drying Tomato With Intense Concentrated Flavor

Principe Borghese (Lycopersicon lycopersicum) is the traditional Italian tomato grown specifically for sun-drying — small, plum-shaped fruits with meaty flesh, few seeds, and low moisture content that concentrate beautifully when dried. A staple of Italian kitchens for generations, Principe Borghese is also excellent fresh, in sauces, and for canning. Determinate plants produce heavy, concentrated yields ideal for processing. Open-pollinated and non-GMO.

Growing Notes

Start indoors 6–8 weeks before last frost. Transplant outdoors after frost danger has passed, spacing plants 18–24 inches apart in full sun. Cage or stake. Water consistently. Harvest when fruits are fully red and firm. For sun-drying, harvest at peak ripeness and dry in full sun or a dehydrator.
