Pinto beans can be eaten as green snap beans but are usually harvested as dry beans. They are tender, easy to cook without soaking, and highly nutritious, commonly used in Mexican dishes like soups and refried beans. This fast-maturing variety is ideal for beginner gardeners. Pinto bush beans have a bushy habit with vining tendrils that don't need staking. They mature in 90 to 100 days, and you can harvest them when they dry on the vine.

Planting guidelines include:
- Direct-seed at a depth of 1 inch,
- Space seeds 2 inches apart,
- Maintain row spacing of 36 to 48 inches.

They can grow up to 3 feet tall, with optional trellis support. If natural rhizobia levels are low, inoculate the soil to boost yields. Ideal soil temperatures for germination are 60°F to 80°F, and germination takes 6 to 10 days.
