Brandywine, Pink (Sudduth's) is one of the most famous heirloom tomatoes in the world. This Amish strain has been grown in Pennsylvania since the 1880s. This beefsteak tomato produces large pink fruits, which can grow up to 2 pounds. This prolific potato leaf plant produces large, pink fruit with wonderfully rich, intense, delicious flavors. This is a strain believed to be the original Brandywine. It is not uncommon for one plant to produce 25-30 fruits per season. Ben Quisenberry of Big Tomato Gardens collected this strain from Dorris Sudduth Hill, whose family grew for over 100 years. The Sudduth Strain is more pink than red. The plants tolerate no frost, so begin growing your transplants in time to set them out three weeks after the last frost date. Indeterminate plants, 80-90 days from transplant.
