Opalescent basil is a beautiful, dark purple basil with a refreshing flavor profile. It can be used as an ornamental plant and a culinary herb, adding a distinct flavor and a pink/purple tint to various dishes. The plants grow quite large, up to 30" tall, with long stems, and benefit from staking. This basil variety is the result of crossing an African landrace basil with a purple basil type.
