Maxigolt is an exceptional late-season heirloom pea with outstanding flavor and a forgiving harvest window that sets it apart from most varieties. Sweet and delicious peas remain sweet even when they grow larger in size — meaning you still get high-quality produce even if you can’t harvest at the ideal moment. Highly productive 30-inch vines yield 3½–4 inch pods containing 7 to 8 peas each, with 1 to 2 pods per node for a bountiful, reliable crop. An excellent choice for gardeners who want maximum production with minimum harvest stress.
Direct sow outdoors 4–6 weeks before last frost — peas prefer cool weather and tolerate light frost. Sow seeds 1 inch deep, 2–3 inches apart, in rows 18–24 inches apart in full sun. Provide a trellis or support for 30-inch vines. Keep soil consistently moist. As a late variety, succession sow after earlier pea varieties for an extended harvest season. Harvest when pods are plump and filled — Maxigolt’s forgiving nature means pods hold quality longer than most varieties.
