Lila Bunching Onion, Heirloom Seeds — The Striking Red Scallion That Grows Into a Large Storing Bulb

Lila (Allium cepa) is a striking red scallion with tall, dark green tops and beautiful red color that develops early. Its mild flavor is perfect for raw use and intensifies as the plants mature. A genuinely dual-purpose variety — when planted in spring, Lila can grow beyond the bunching stage to produce large bulbs with dark red wrappers that store well. Use as a scallion for fresh eating, or let it mature into a full-sized red storage onion. 60–70 days.

Why Grow Lila?

  • Beautiful red color develops early — striking in the garden and on the plate
  • Mild flavor for raw use — intensifies as plants mature
  • Dual-purpose variety — harvest as a scallion or grow into a large storing bulb
  • Dark red wrappers that store well — excellent for long-term keeping
  • Tall, dark green tops — beautiful and productive
  • Open-pollinated heirloom — save seed year after year
