Purple Jalapeño (Capsicum annuum) is a larger-than-standard jalapeño that turns deep purple before maturing to red — best eaten at the purple stage for maximum visual impact and full jalapeño flavor. Full jalapeño heat and flavor make it great for salsa and Mexican dishes.
