Moringa (Moringa oleifera) is one of the most nutritionally dense plants on earth — a fast-growing, drought-resistant tree ideal for warm climate gardens. Known as the “miracle tree,” moringa leaves are a powerhouse of vitamins A, B, C, and K, beta-carotene, manganese, and protein. Young seed pods are eaten as vegetables; leaves are cooked fresh or dried into powder; seeds are edible raw or roasted. Thrives in warm climates with well-drained sandy soil. Sensitive to frost.
Sow outdoors after last frost in warm climates, or start indoors in pots. Thrives in neutral to slightly acidic, well-drained sandy soil. Full sun. Sensitive to frost — grow as a perennial in Zones 9–12, or as an annual in cooler climates. Water moderately; avoid waterlogged soil.
