Hales Best Jumbo (Cucumis melo) is a traditional heirloom cantaloupe favorite — large, oval, ribbed fruits weighing 4–5 pounds with heavy netting and fine-textured, bright orange flesh that is sweet, juicy, and intensely fragrant. The seed cavity is fairly small for the size of the fruit. Short shelf life — best enjoyed fresh at peak ripeness. 85 days.
