Grand Rapids (Lactuca sativa) has been a garden staple since 1890 β one of the fastest-maturing leaf lettuces available, with large, frilled, bright green leaves and a tender, mild flavor. Slow to bolt and heat tolerant. Excellent for cut-and-come-again harvesting. A reliable, proven heirloom. Open-pollinated and non-GMO.
Direct sow outdoors in early spring or fall. Sow seeds ΒΌ inch deep, thinning to 8β10 inches apart. Prefers cool weather but slow to bolt. Water consistently. Harvest outer leaves as needed or cut entire plant for regrowth.
