Glacier is the tomato for gardeners who canβt wait. An excellent early-type variety, Glacier produces 1Β½β2 inch fruits in as little as 55 days β one of the earliest heirloom tomatoes available β with a nice, tangy tomato flavor that is excellent for slicing and salads. Unlike many early-season varieties that exhaust themselves in a single flush, Glacier plants produce both an early crop and continue to bear through the entire season, performing reliably in cooler climates as well as hot areas.
Semi-determinate and genuinely versatile, Glacier is the heirloom that delivers from the first warm days of summer through the last days of the season.
Start indoors 4β6 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds ΒΌ inch deep in fertile, well-draining soil. Transplant outdoors after all frost danger has passed, spacing plants 18β24 inches apart in full sun. Water consistently. Harvest when fruits are fully red and give slightly to gentle pressure.
