Fish Hot Pepper – A Pre-1870s African-American Heirloom with Stunning Variegated Foliage

One of the most visually striking peppers you can grow, Fish Hot Pepper is an African-American heirloom predating the 1870s, traditionally used in shellfish and fish cookery in the Chesapeake Bay region. Plants feature gorgeous green and purple foliage splashed with white, while pods ripen through a rainbow of variegated colors — white with green stripes, orange with brown streaks, deep purple, and finally brilliant red. Very hot at 5,000–10,000 SHU, with excellent heat tolerance and great for drying.
