Dwarf Grey Sugar (Pisum sativum) is an ancient heirloom snow pea prized for its plump, tender edible pods and beautiful purple flowers. Attractive purple blossoms produce sweet, slender 2½–3-inch pods on compact 30-inch vines that thrive in cool, wet climates. Shoots are excellent as garnishes and in salad mixes. Harvest young as a snow pea or allow to develop as a snap pea. 66 days.
Direct sow outdoors 4–6 weeks before last frost in full sun. Plant 1 inch deep, 6 inches apart. Vines can be grown with or without support. Harvest young for snow pea use or allow to develop for snap pea use. Harvest frequently to promote continued fruiting.
