Growing Notes

Cold-stratify seeds for 30 days before sowing, or direct sow outdoors in fall for natural stratification. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep in full sun. Space plants 18–24 inches apart. Water consistently until established — drought tolerant once established. Spreads by rhizome — best planted on garden perimeter or in wild areas. Monarch caterpillars will feed on foliage — this is a sign of success, not damage.
