China Rose Radish, Heirloom Seeds β€” The Ancient Chinese Winter Radish Introduced to the West by Jesuit Monks

China Rose (Raphanus sativus) is one of the oldest heirloom radishes in cultivation β€” originating in China and introduced to the Western world by Jesuit monks in the 1950s. A classic winter radish, best planted later in the season and harvested for winter storage, China Rose produces 5-inch rose-colored roots with pure white, firm, and relatively mild flesh. Very hardy in fall and winter, it also grows well in spring. A beautiful and historically significant radish that earns its place in any serious heirloom garden. 55 days.
