Blush is the tomato that earns its name. Developed by Fred Hempel of Baia Nicchia Farm in California, these charming 2-inch elongated, grape-shaped fruits start out clear yellow before blushing with pink streaks as they ripen β a color transformation that makes harvest timing intuitive and the vine genuinely beautiful. The flavor is sweet, fruity, and refreshing, with a clean brightness that makes them irresistible eaten straight from the vine or tossed into salads and grain bowls.
Known for heavy production throughout the season, Blush is an indeterminate variety that keeps delivering wave after wave of these elegant little fruits from midsummer through frost. 75 days.
Start indoors 6β8 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds ΒΌ inch deep in fertile, well-draining soil. Transplant outdoors after all frost danger has passed, spacing plants 24β36 inches apart in full sun. Stake or cage vines. Water consistently. Harvest when fruits develop pink blush streaks and give slightly to gentle pressure.
