Bennings Green Tint Scallop (Cucurbita pepo) is a pre-Civil War heirloom scallop squash — pale cream with a distinctive green tint, flying saucer-shaped fruits with scalloped edges and tender, mild, buttery flesh. One of the oldest scallop varieties in cultivation. Best harvested at 3–4 inches. Prolific and productive. 55 days.
Direct sow outdoors after last frost in full sun, or start indoors 2–3 weeks before transplanting. Sow 1 inch deep, spacing plants 24–36 inches apart. Water consistently. Harvest frequently at 3–4 inches for best flavor.
