Azoychka is the Russian heirloom that surprises everyone who grows it. These medium-sized, lemon-yellow fruits have a bright, citrusy sweetness and a low acidity that makes them genuinely different from any red tomato β refreshing, complex, and deeply satisfying in a way that is hard to describe until you taste one. The flesh is dense and meaty with few seeds, making Azoychka excellent for fresh eating, slicing, and salads where its beautiful color and distinctive flavor can shine.
An indeterminate, open-pollinated heirloom from Russia that matures in 70β75 days β earlier than many large heirlooms and reliable in a wide range of growing conditions.
Start 6β8 weeks before the last frost indoors. Sow seeds ΒΌ inch deep in fertile, well-draining soil. Transplant outdoors after all frost danger has passed, spacing plants 24β36 inches apart in full sun. Stake or cage vines. Water consistently. Harvest when fruits are fully lemon-yellow and give slightly to gentle pressure.
