Apache is a striking scallion developed to satisfy market demand for a vibrant red salad onion that is as beautiful as it is practical. Known for its rich red and purple colors, Apache produces a beautifully elongated pearl shape that peels easily while retaining its vivid hue. The flavor is mild and clean — perfect for salads, sandwiches, and fresh eating — and the lush green tops add dramatic visual appeal to any dish. Harvest early as a purple bunching crop (scallion), or wait for a bulb to begin forming for a beautiful spring onion. Apache can also be overwintered for an early spring harvest. 65 days.
Direct sow outdoors in early spring (4–6 weeks before last frost) or late summer for a fall/overwintered crop. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep, 1 inch apart, in rows 12 inches apart. Thin to 2–3 inches apart. Full sun. Keep soil consistently moist. Harvest scallions when tops are 6–8 inches tall, or allow to develop a small bulb for spring onion use. For overwintering, sow in late summer and mulch lightly before frost.

The seeds arrived around the estimated time of arrival. They were well packaged and looked good. I planted a few 3 days ago and I've already got sprouts.
I hope these flowers will grow in North Dakota! The colors are vibrant and hopefully the bees will like them. I will have to wait until after the Big Thaw in April before I can plant them - can't wait!
